If the water heater is heating the water too much the excessive pressure may be causing the t p valve o leak.
Atwood water heater tank leaking.
That spells trouble and has to be remedied.
Looks like we have a leak on our inlet side of the atwood water heater a pinhole leak in the part that connects to the pex.
Any way to repair this.
Salt and other chemicals in the sediment may lead to premature rusting or corrosion inside of a water heater and eventually cause pinhole leaks to form.
That is caused by the pressure imbalance between the hot and cold water sides of the plumbing system the pressure imbalance is caused by this trapped air at the top of the water heater s tank.
You can see the corrosion from minerals in our water it s been doing this a while apparently.
The leaking t p valve may indicate the overall water pressure in.
Fortunately this trapped air will eventually become entrained in the water as the boat is used and rocks and bounces around.
As discussed above when sediment builds up in the bottom of a water tank for years and years it will eventually corrode through the bottom of the tank and begin to leak.
If the valve was removed recently it s possible it is now failing to seal properly.
Lastly the most common cause of a leaking water tank.
Otherwise you risk severe damage t.
Tightening the valve or.
The tank would probably only leak if it suffered freeze or collision damage.
It s not the fitting but actually on the tank inlet.
Once a pinhole leak is opened up the pressure of the water inside the tank forcing its way through the opening will cause the leak to get larger over time.
Using a rug mop or paper towels wipe the puddles of water on the rv s floor or surface that you suspect is coming from a leak.
Observe if water will again appear sometime after you finish drying up.
On a recent trip our water pump kept cycling about once every 20 seconds.
